Featured in the latest issue of Home magazine, Bauhaus collaborates with stylist Federico Monsalve, photographer Kate Grewal and Parnell Gallery to style Architect Mike Hartleys home.
We also get to speak with Mike from Lloyd Hartley Architects as he shares some insight on his design philosophy behind his home used to style a few of our favourite pieces.
Di-Chen
"Di-Chen is a robust portmanteau room that provides a highly functional space for a family to dwell, share and celebrate in.
It seeks to provide the stability of a nostalgic Farmhouse Kitchen while allowing flexibility to expand out to service the northern deck terrace for large family gatherings and also lift for a more refined dining experience.
The central circular table provides all manner of epic lock-down scrabble sessions through to simple circulation around a buffet presentations for family feeding assemblies out on the deck".
Shifting Seasons
Home magazine pair some of our favourite pieces with artworks from Parnell Gallery to exemplify the shifting seasons: interiors that go from lush and textural through to vibrant, sunlit and refreshed to the washed out blues, yellows and the greens of early spring.
Refined Dining Experience
The central Dining & Kitchen space is combined to allow generosity of space and ample circulation while at its heart it’s motivations are that of inclusion; both in terms of daily family life and out to the street as well.
Form
"The lack of island bench is a major spacesaver while actually promoting 'everything in its place' behaviours. The resulting arrangement is a reaction to flat surfaces just becoming dumping grounds...
And when it all becomes too much it's time to call on a 'small' to clean up and withdraw to the Living room next door."
