Most of our sofas sit on a no-sag spring foundation, which keeps the seat level through daily use. Contour and Bowie add inner-coil seat cushions for lasting support. The Delia 3-piece Sofa pairs its springs with rubber webbing and layered foam.
Fill
Feather and fibre toppers feel plump and need a regular shake. All-foam builds sit firmer and hold their shape without plumping. Neither is better. It depends on whether you want to sink in or sit supported.

Legs and floor
Raised legs let light and a robot vacuum pass underneath, and make a sofa look lighter. A plinth or low base grounds it. Choose by the room: raised legs for small spaces, a low base for relaxed family rooms.
